VIPIRG events
VIPIRG hosts a variety of educational events, including training workshops, film showings, community forums, and presentations by guest speakers on social and environmental justice issues. We also organize action-oriented events such as information pickets, rallies, demonstrations, street theatre, and work parties. All VIPIRG events are open to members and the general public.
Got an idea for an event?
Students and VIPIRG community members are encouraged to bring ideas for social/environmental justice events to VIPIRG. The VIPIRG coordinating collective considers event proposals year-round. Email outreach@vipirg.ca or call us at 472-5170 to discuss your idea.
Co-sponsorship of events
From its inception VIPIRG has worked with other campus and community groups to collectively organize events.
 Event sponsorship policy and guidelines
Community groups that want VIPIRG to co-sponsor an event can email us at outreach@vipirg.ca, or call us at 721-8629 or 472-5170.
- We can book UVic rooms and equipment for meetings, community gatherings, film showings, or other events that are sponsored or co-sponsored by VIPIRG. (Rooms are free, but UVic charges for use of equipment.)
- Staff and volunteers can help with event logistics planning and promotion.
- People working on VIPIRG events have access to our computers, printer, phone lines, fax machine, and digital camera, and a low-cost button-making machine.
