VIPIRG’s Priorities
Over the past year, VIPIRG has been busy internally with staff transitions and a strategic visioning process. Our current focus is on making poverty visible and addressing its root causes. We see the rest of our priorities through this lens. Our work prioritizes:
- ongoing relationships with local Nations, communities, territories and ecosystems;
- local groups, safer spaces & dynamics, and personal & collective learning processes;
- actively challenging inter-locking aspects of oppression including, ableism, capitalism, colonialism, classism, heterosexism, racism and sexism;
- action-based research;
- environmental justice, self-determination, and decolonization;
- skill sharing between campus population and the greater community;
- increasing student involvement with VIPIRG and other local groups;
- groups with limited access to other sources of funding.
